I personally knew 'The Duke' for 15 years.  'A big man for a big country'  as an English patron of mine called him.  The man I knew was the same man we all saw on that great silver screen, honest and true, whose word you could take as scripture.  This painting was done as a tribute to a man that I hope will be an inspiration to my grandchildren.  Artist:  Robert Learned Hand
